The QUIT FOR LIFE Programme

By David F. Marks

An easier way to stop smoking
and not start again

Have you ever tried and failed to quit smoking? Most smokers have. It is even more difficult to avoid relapsing - after weeks or even years - and the long-term results of many stop smoking programmes are disappointing.

Why should this programme be any different? Most people rely on willpower to give up smoking, but by comparing your mind to a computer, the QUIT FOR LIFE Programme shows you how to 're-program' yourself not to smoke. There are exercises and easy to remember phrases to help you become aware of your actions and smoking 'triggers' so that smoking becomes a conscious effort rather than an automatic reaction. Techniques to help you remain a non-smoker, such as healthy eating, exercise, stress management and relaxation, are also included in the book.

The introduction and first chapter are available on this website. Please note: information posted here forms only part of the QUIT FOR LIFE Programme. To carry out the Programme, you will need the whole programme which includes a book, tape, daily reduction cards and progress chart . It presents four programs and many long-term maintenance techniques, and can be ordered from bookshops.
