Advice: mode 1 form

This form is used to search for all results in a given period. The user specifies the period and indicates the desired output format.

I recommend that you should choose no more than a single year at a time if you are using a standard modem. More than 1000 matches were played in the year 2000; in the 1990s the average was 600, in the 1980s 400, in the 1970s 300, in the 1960s 230, and so on. If you find that the results of your search download rapidly, you can search again with a longer time-span enabled.

Some output formats use up less space than others. In general the Tabular format uses up most bytes per match and therefore takes longest to download, whereas the CSV format takes least. CSV format does not look attractive on a screen but can be read directly into Microsoft Excel for continued analysis.
