Dr Razvan Satnoianu

Lecturer in Financial Mathematics

Faculty of Actuarial Science and Statistics

Cass Business School at City University London

Research I do research in a wide range of Applied Mathematics subjects. Main topics of interest are: pricing of financial objects and portfolio optimization (Financial Mathematics), studies of natural patterns (e.g. in development), chemotaxis and chemical waves (Mathematical Biology and Chemistry). These are crucial to the advancement of Developmental Biology. From a mathematical point of view the work is focused on nonlinear systems of reaction-diffusion equations with regard to the existence of their solutions, e.g. periodic stationary and/or travelling waves and their properties. Applications are in : finance, development and morphogenesis, ecology, population dynamics, immunology and tumour research, chemistry, combustion, physics and economics. Both deterministic and stochastic models are of interest.

Teaching Here is information regarding my teaching activities in the Faculty of Actuarial Science, Cass business School at City University. These pages are especially of interest to my MSc students in Cass Business School.

Mathematical Outreach and Competitions I am interested in spreading and attracting the interest for Mathematics at various audiences, especially in young people.  I discovered Mathematics while at High School and since then I enjoyed every minute of it.
