Enhancing Communication in Aphasia Through Gesture

The Gesture Therapy Project is an exciting new research project investigating gesture therapy for people with severe aphasia. The project is based at City University and UCL and is funded by the Stroke Association.

We are trying to answer these questions:

  • Can people with aphasia learn gestures?
  • If so, can they use these gestures to communicate with other people?
  • Does using gestures help cue speech?

We are looking for 20 people with severe aphasia to take part. If you are interested in taking part or know someone who is, please see Recruitment page for more information.
