Part III Projects - Wallpaper and Crystals

There is a lot of stuff about the 17 wall paper patterns on the web. We are interested in the mathematical aspects of why there are 17 different repeating patters. You want to be able to show that not only are there 17 patterns, but only 17 patterns.

A suitable starting point for a book is "Groups and Symmetry: a guide to discovering mathematics" by David W. Farmer.
