Personal Information

Petros Iosifidis is the Director of the MA in Communications Policy Studies and the MA in International Communication and Development. Petros received a Diploma in Sociology from the Panteion University in Athens in 1987. After completing his military service and a brief career in Greece he came to London for postgraduate studies on a scholarship from the Greek government. He obtained an  MA in Communications Policy Studies from City University in 1993 and a PhD from the University  of Westminster in 1996.  Petros joined City University as a lecturer in 1996. He has worked as a freelance consultant for a number of media organisations  such as the Hellenic Audiovisual Institute in Athens, European Broadcasting Union in Geneva, Institute de l’audiovisuel et des telecommunications en Europe in Montpellier and British Screen Advisory Council in London  investigating areas of merger control, ownership and regulation in the broadcasting and telecommunications sectors.
