-Collaborative design VE allows entire D&DP to be performed in remote sites
-Due to differences in general software used and ‘culture’ of D&DP
applied at different sites, specific software needs to be designed in modules which could be later conveniently
connected.
-Communication of both, geometric and non-geometry (FBS)
information needs to be allowed in VE through common language (protocol).
-Direct and indirect communication need to be allowed and performed in
VE
-Knowledge of the product and process needs to be accumulated and
incorporated in knowledge data base throughout D&DP.
