Exercise title:             CAD Tutorial

 

This exercise takes three weeks. It consists of two tasks:

A)    Learn how to use AutoCAD by performing steps explained in
CAD Tutorial – Part 1 and CAD Tutorial – Part 2. This takes two weeks. You should submit you drawing generated in this exercise for marking.

B)    Make an AutoCAD drawing of the part from DrE-5. Prerequisite to this is that your paper drawing from DrE-5 is marked and corrected according to a tutor recommendation.

 

Time schedule for this exercise is:

  1. Week 9                       CAD Tutorial – Part 1
  2. Week 10                    CAD Tutorial – Part 2
  3. Weeks 11                  CAD drawing of the part from DrE-5

 

This exercise will be marked as follows:

Objective is to learn how to use AutoCAD:

  1. During the first week (Week 9) you will work in AutoCAD on CAD Tutorial – Part 1. When you finish it you can start immediately with CAD Tutorial – Part 2.
  2. During the second week (Week 10) you should finish CAD Tutorial – Part 2 and submit it as soon as possible.
  3. During the third (Weeks 11 ) you should make AutoCAD 2D model and manufacturing drawings of the part you have been drawing in DrE-5 using knowledge of AutoCAD learned in previous two weeks.

NOTE:

Before you can start doing the third part of this exercise, your exercise DrE-5 must be marked and you should keep hold of its paper copy. Your AutoCAD drawing should be exact copy of your corrected and marked paper drawing from DrE-5.

 

The absolute deadline for all coursework of Term1 is 24th December.
Do not miss the deadline since NO submission after it will be allowed.

Submission procedure:

·        Coursework is submitted exclusively through CitySpace.

·        Login to the City Space, go to module “Engineering Drawing and Design” and open the “Assignment toolbar” on the left hand side

·        Submit the dwg file you produce in AutoCAD
