Constraints

A constraint is a geometric or dimension relation between two elements.

A constraint is defined by:

a type: for example, a distance constraint
a mode: measured or constraining mode
a configuration

A constraint applies to up to three elements. In Interactive Drafting workbench, constraints are created either through the dimension command, the constraints creation command or via SmartPick. Note that when you use SmartPick, you detect geometric constraints dynamically. But SmartPick can simply be used to automatically detect constraints without necessarily creating them.
